A full renovation that turned a dated semi-detached house in Zottegem into a light-filled, energy-efficient home with an open living concept.
This complete renovation in Zottegem involved the full transformation of a semi-detached house, carried out with a considered vision, true craftsmanship and meticulous planning. The owners wanted not only to modernise the existing house visually, but also to optimise it technically at the same time.
The renovation brought an evolution from a dark, dated layout to an open, spacious design in which abundant natural light and a continuous connection with the outdoors take centre stage. Superfluous internal walls were removed and strategic new window openings created, while large sliding doors with high-efficiency glass strengthen the bond between inside and garden.
The choice of materials plays a crucial role. A continuous parquet floor in a light wood tone brings warmth and visual unity, white walls and ceilings give a modern appearance, and subtle wood accents ensure a refined, timeless look. The living room was given an inviting corner sofa, while an open wooden staircase acts as an architectural focal point.
The kitchen is the showpiece of the home, with a central elongated cooking island in a sleek white finish and wall cabinets with warm wood accents. Integrated appliances, a considered lighting plan and large glazed surfaces with high-efficiency glass make it a user-friendly and welcoming space.
The bathroom was designed as an oasis of calm, with a wide vanity unit with twin basins, white marble wall tiles and a water-resistant wood-look floor. A bathtub set beneath a new window offers a view of the garden without loss of privacy. Technically, the home received extra insulation, a modern ventilation system and underfloor heating for a pleasant indoor climate.
