A complete transformation that preserved the authentic character while adding modern comfort and a timeless style.
This country home in the heart of Schelderode underwent a complete transformation. Its authentic character was preserved, while modern comfort and a timeless style were added.
The renovated dining room features a herringbone parquet floor, white panelling and new wooden windows. The restored ceiling with its exposed wooden beams, together with the finished wooden walls, brings warmth to the space. The room is designed for everyday family life, yet lends itself just as well to intimate dinners.
The kitchen blends traditional country elements with modern appliances, featuring a vintage tiled floor, white cabinets, a black splashback and a wooden worktop. The adjoining dining nook was given vintage floor tiles, rattan chairs and a round white table, alongside a new country-style window with high-performance glazing.
An unused attic was transformed into an inviting bedroom with a herringbone parquet floor, new insulation and energy-efficient windows with a low U-value. The living room, in turn, enjoys large energy-efficient windows and a restored wooden beamed ceiling, where natural light is combined with ambient lighting.
