House Vurste

A contemporary home that honours the charm of the past while meeting today's living standards.

This semi-detached house in Vurste was thoroughly addressed through an all-in project. The home had many unique features, such as a characterful façade and authentic interior details, but suffered from dated materials, poor insulation and an inefficient layout.

The living room was transformed into a warm and inviting living environment, with grey panelling, white ceiling details, wooden floors and an integrated fireplace. The space flows seamlessly into the dining room with its white doors and glazed sections. The renewed kitchen was given a large cooking island with a natural stone worktop, black wooden panels and room for four bar stools.

Two bathrooms were completely renovated: an en-suite bathroom at attic level with a freestanding bath, and the original bathroom with a walk-in shower, black rain shower, beige natural stone and a wooden unit. The master bedroom showcases dark wooden floors with exposed roof beams, while a children's room makes clever use of a loft bed with an integrated desk.

The previously unused attic became a light-filled and versatile full-fledged room with roof windows, suitable as a workspace, bedroom and bathroom. The façades and the roof were fully insulated with high-quality materials and the high-performance glazing ensures low U-values.

Finally, the electrical system was entirely renewed with smart lighting and energy-efficient appliances, and the garden, with its newly laid terrace, grew into a true extension of the home.
